Die "Orientalistische Literaturzeitung" (OLZ) ist das älteste Rezensionsorgan für das Gesamtgebiet der Orientalistik. Im Jahre 1898 begründet, hat sie ihr Profil entsprechend der Entwicklung der Forschungsgebiete ausgeweitet und berücksichtigt dabei alle Zeitepochen. In Besprechungsartikeln und Rezensionen werden monographische Werke aus dem Gesamtgebiet der Orientalistik kritisch vorgestellt. Am Beginn jedes Heftes bietet ein Rezensionsartikel Einblick in die wissenschaftliche Diskussion bestimmter Themen. Insgesamt wird damit eine umfassende Information über den aktuellen Forschungsstand vermittelt.

"Orientalistische Literaturzeitung" (OLZ) is the oldest international review of the entire field of Oriental studies. Founded in 1898, the journal widened it's profile according to the development of research and takes into consideration all epochs. In articles and reviews recent monographs of the entire field of Oriental studies are critically discussed. The fascicles start with essays on special problems in these fields of research. Thus a comprehensive information is given on the current state of research.
